Rifle Sons Of The Forest Location And Weapon Guide
The bolt-action rifle in Sons of the Forest provides players with impressive long-range firepower, making it an essential addition to any late-game arsenal. Finding this weapon requires navigating dangerous underground caverns and coming equipped with the right gear. This guide covers everything you need to know about locating the rifle and utilizing its high-damage potential effectively.
Required Equipment and Preparation
Before heading out to retrieve the rifle, players must ensure they have acquired the Rebreather, as an underwater portion of the cave must be crossed. Carrying reliable light sources, healing items, and strong close-range weapons is also highly recommended to handle cave mutants. Proper preparation prevents unnecessary deaths while exploring these pitch-black subterranean corridors.
Locating the Cave Entrance
The cave containing the rifle is situated on the eastern side of the snowy mountain region, near the edge of a large lake. Players should specifically target the eastern entrance of this sprawling cave system for direct access. Entering from the incorrect side can lead to dead ends and difficult terrain that prevents reaching the weapon.
Navigating the Cavern to the Rifle
Once inside the cavern entrance, push forward through the dark tunnels while hugging the right-hand wall. You will eventually encounter a pool of deep water where the Rebreather is automatically used to dive through. After swimming through the submerged passage and surfacing, continue following the path past lit skull lamps until you find a dead soldier propped up at the back of the room holding the firearm.
Weapon Characteristics and Ammo Management
The rifle is a bolt-action firearm equipped with a built-in optic sight, making it ideal for taking down targets from long distances. However, rifle ammo is quite scarce and cannot be crafted, requiring careful target selection and conservation. Saving your rifle shots for formidable mutants or distant cannibals ensures that this powerful tool remains available when you need it most.
